The Force is still with us

I was contacted a couple of weeks ago by the Lucasfilm people letting me know that George Lucas was interested in purchasing the painting I did for his book. A week later it was a done deal. I was honored that he wanted this piece for his collection. I've been told that the limited edition book of the paintings will be coming out sometime in the fall of 2010. Until then, I am not able to share the sketches I did for the painting or the finished painting with the public.

Nelson has been asked by writer and producer George Lucas to participate as one of several internationally known artists to produce a work of art for a new STAR WARS project.


Since the work is copyrighted by Lucasfilms, it can not be reproduced on this blog yet. Keep your eyes peeled! As soon as it can be posted there will be a step by step photo documentation and write up. It will start with the original sketch submitted to George Lucas all the way to the final rendition.
